HSIM Hybrid Simulator

Summary: HSIM is an open-source simulator for amateur nitrous hybrid rocket motors. The simulator takes an input file containing a text description of the motor in a simple, one parameter per line format. It generates a description of the motor and the burn as its output. The report generator takes the simulator output and produces the formatted report. Both are written in C, coded in a style that should be straightforward to read or to port.

Lawndart Model Rocket Simulation

Summary: Lawndart is an open-source model rocket simulation for Linux, designed to accurately simulate the flight of a model rocket from launch to landing. While Lawndart was developed for Linux, it should be easily portable to other operating systems, and official ports are planned for the future.

Matt Stum’s Template Widget

Summary: Matt Stum's Template Widget allows you to create transitions, fin alignment guides, and miter guides. It is still in beta testing, but should be quite usable. It doesn't have a "Help" feature built yet, but hopefully it should be pretty self-explanatory. Tested it on Windows 98 and Windows 2000, and recent reports indicate that it also works on Windows XP Pro.

Online Transition Creator

PalmOS Rocketry Software

Summary: Rocketry related software for PDAs running PalmOS. pRASP is a port of G. Harry Stine’s RASP (Rocket Altitude Simulation Program). RocketCalc is a collection of seven rocketry related calculators: parachute, delay, altitude, ejection, wind drift, motor info and static port size. pRASP and RocketCalc use a common database, which includes all motors found at thrustcurve.org as well as all of the newer CTI motors certified by CAR. CPcalc is a center of pressure calculator using the classic Barrowman equations. NP is a port of Bob Kaplow’s FORTRAN code for calculating the neutral point of a boost glider.
