Commercially made rockets are exciting to build and fun to launch. They are also a great hands-on activity for students from 8 years old to adulthood. Unfortunately, soaring costs of school supplies and dwindling school budgets are making it difficult to purchase hands-on science materials for classroom. Rather than give up model rocketry (or build less model rockets) I created a way to build over 50 model rockets, an electrical launch system, and a launch pad for less than $100 (excluding the cost of engines).
In my CD (or DVD), I will demonstrate how you can build model rocket parts for 30 - 60 rocket teams. In addition, I will show you where to find many of the simple materials used to make the rockets. Last, I will show you how to make an electrical launch system from an old 30’ extension cord and a launch pad from wood.
Making model rockets from simple easy-to-find materials is a rewarding experience. These rockets can soar to altitudes up to 1,000 feet and return safely to Earth. Just install new engines and fireproof wadding and they are ready for more flights!
