ROCKETS Magazine is taking the next step in moving Steve Eves 1:10 scale Saturn V closer to the pad and to lift off, scheduled for the spring of 2009 to commemorate the 40th anniversary launch of Apollo 11, arguably the iconic mission that defined the United States Space Program.

The LDRS 28 Planning Committee has negotiated with the FAA for altitude windows to 23,000 feet. The standing waiver for the event is 15,000 feet and now windows to 23,000 feet are available. LDRS 28 will be held July 2-6, 2009 in the heart of the picturesque Finger Lakes region of western New York.

ATLANTA, Georgia USA — Nearly five years of behind the scenes work by one man in the state of Georgia has paid dividends, where the Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner has announced a state-wide exemption from explosive licensing requirements for the state's participants of hobby rocketry.

"This material contains information affecting the National Defense of the United States within the meaning of the Espionage Laws, Title 18, U. S. C., Section 793 and 794, the transmission or revelation of which in any manner to an unauthorized person is prohibited by law." Fear not, as this recently de-classified document has been deemed safe for general consumption.
