AMARILLO, Texas — For the third year, POTROCS will be hosting the Annual CanSat Competition open to universities and colleges. The American Astronautical Society (AAS) and American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) have organized an annual student design-build-launch competition for space-related topics.

CULPEPER, Virginia USA — The spring Battle of the Rockets will be held April 4, 2009 in Culpeper, VA. The competition is open to high school, university, and college teams. The competition will be composed of multiple events consisting of altitude and upright landing competitions. Registration is due by September 30.

LAKE HAVASU CITY, Arizona USA — Contrail Rockets is looking for current customers and active fliers of their product who are interested in being part of a test group to fly and test out their new igniters, designed to work with all current GSE systems that run on 12 volts. 

ARGONIA, Kansas USA — A growing folk story is winding its way out of the Kansas heartland about a young lady who would go on to become the youngest female member of the Tripoli Rocketry Association to certify Level 3, an event that occurred over the Labor Day weekend and the LDRS national launch.

VAN ORIN, Illinois USA — Tim Lehr issued a challenge to motor manufacturers called the Shred The Wildman contest at this year's LDRS in Argonia, Kansas.  The contest was designed to give those manufacturers a chance to shred the Wildman, a dual-deployment rocket kit sold by Wildman Rocketry.

ARLINGTON, Virginia USA — As school doors swing open, students have a terrific opportunity to look forward to — the Team America Rocketry Challenge. Registration is now open for the world's largest rocket contest challenging participants to compete for $60,000 in prizes and scholarships.

ARGONIA, Kansas USA — Labor Day weekend at LDRS in the Kloudbuster's Rocket Pasture continues, and the Tripoli Rocketry Association has announced next year's venue for the organization's annual rocket launch.  2009 will find the launch moving to the East coast, near Penn Yan, New York, July 2-6.

ARGONIA, Kansas USA — Neil McGilvrey and Robert Utley of ROCKETS Magazine are on the field at LDRS27 in Argonia, Kansas, snapping photos.  At the end of each day, they will be uploading their photos to their website, as well as updating the Mach Madness Scoreboard.

NEW YORK, New York USA — LAUNCH Magazine is providing regular updates from U.S. team member George Gassaway at the 17th FAI World Spacemodeling Championships in Lleida, Spain. Gassaway, one of America’s top model rocketeers, is competing in three events in Spain.
