WORLD WIDE WEB — Years of hard work paid off recently for Charles Simpson of the United Kingdom Rocketry Association, where he functions as a liaison with the UK's Health and Safety Executive (HSE), securing certificates of regulatory exemption for the majority of fliers there.

BLACK ROCK DESERT, Nevada USA — Designated as the premiere experimental rocket launch in the continental United States, BALLS 17 will be the 16th year BALLS will be held in the wide expanse of the Black Rock Desert, near Gerlach, Nevada, on September 26th-28th, 2008. 

WORLD WIDE WEB — Celebrating 50 years of service, the National Association of Rocketry's Annual Meeting will be geared around the association's Golden Anniversary, to be held on the rolling hills and beautiful countryside at Great Meadow near The Plains, Virgina, July 26th through August 1st.

JACKSONVILLE, Texas USA — A belated loss has been discovered in the untimely death of Robert E. Ellis, owner of Ellis Mountain Rocket Works, a manufacturer of single use and reloadable model and high power rocket motors.  Ellis died on December the 4th after complications from an accident.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada USA — Scott Ulrey of Just Rockets announced today that he has completed negotiations with Matt Steele, purchasing the rights to the entirety of North Coast Rockets, although they do not foresee the re-release of any NCR kits until at least the third or fourth quarter of this year.

HILLSBORO, Oregon USA — With three of nine Board of Trustee positions open for placement, National Association of Rockety Secretary George Rachor has officially called for the 2008 trustee nominations.  NAR members will vote for the three seats, to be announcemed at NARAM-50 in July, 2008.

MARION, Iowa USA — With the National Association of Rocketry Board of Trustees meeting date approaching, NAR president Mark Bundick has officially called for member agenda items to be submitted.  The meeting is to take place March 13-14 in Rochester, Minnesota, during NARCON 2008.

FREDERICK, Maryland USA — Every year, the National Association of Rocketry accepts proposals for changes to the United States Model Rocket Sporting Code, more commonly known as the Pink Book, through the Rules Revision Process, where contest rules revisions are considered and voted upon.

OAK PARK, Michigan USA — Eldred Pickett has released his new 2008 Hobby Rocketry Calendar.  Featuring photos of both model and high power rocketry, the calendar is coil-bound, with a separate sheet of information on various rocketry and space-related events and people.

GAITHERSBURG, Maryland USA — ROCKETS Magazine's December 2007 issue is in the mail and being delivered to subscribers now.  Featuring BALLS 15, Southern Thunder and Nebraska Heat 10, the issue has plenty of launch info about the activities of the Tripoli Rocketry Association.
