The following motors have been certified by NAR Standards & Testing as of August 1, 1998 for general use as model rocket motors. They are certified for contest use effective October 7, 1998.

Tripoli Motor Testing chairperson, Sue McMurray, announced today that Hypertek Hybrids have seven new hybrid motors officially certified as well as five recertifications of existing Hypetek motors. Minor manufacturing changes were implemented into the new fuel grains resulting in a safer motor with a higher average thrust.

Gerlach, Nevada USA -- It's another day in the life of Sue McMurray and her band of volunteers who are running Tripoli Rocketry Association's motor testing operations, known as "Tripoli Motor Testing", or "TMT" for short. This particular session found guest of honor, Robert Ellis of Ellis Mountain Rocket Works, joining in while his motors were being tested.

Ed Hackett of Tripoli Motor Testing made a public statement today indicating that TMT has fired and certified all eight of the Ellis Mountain Rocket Works reloadable motors. Sue McMurray, TMT Chairperson, is preparing the test data and will have those available shortly. This should end speculative comments that TMT is favorable to certain motor manufacturers, since this is a new manufacturer altogether, and has followed the regulatory requirements necessary to produce and sell Class B products.
