BATON ROUGE, Louisianna USA -- Giant Leap Rocketry, Inc. has released the new THREADED Slimline Motor Retention System. Like their existing Slimlines with the ring that snaps inside, the new retainer has a ring that threads inside.

According to Ed at Giant Leap Rocketry, the threaded version not only provides the convenience of threaded retention, but it maintains it's low profile and low drag by making the ring thread internally, not externally. It is fully compatible with all existing Slimline adapters (regardless of the type of ring).

The Threaded Slimline is comprised of three things:

  1. A base (or retainer),
  2. A threaded ring (or closure), and
  3. An extraction tool (not completely necessary, but makes life simpler).

Ed points out that "these three items are included in the Starter Pack. After that, all you need are base units for other rockets of a given motor size. No need to get a threaded ring and tool for every rocket. That keeps the price down."

The classic Slimline with the snap-in circle ring will still be available.
