STARTOWN, North Carolina USA -- Total Impulse Rocketry is proud to announce it is now open for business. Initial product offerings focus on the need for reliable yet inexpensive recovery harnesses and harness protectors in sport rocketry.
Owner Tom Henderson brings to Total Impulse Rocketry 16 years of engineering experience in the design and manufacture of woven pulling tapes and composite strength elements for the telecommunications industry. Seeing the need for improved reliability in this often overlooked aspect of the HPR hobby, it was felt that the knowledge gained in the manufacture of the world‚s best selling pulling tape would definitely have a positive impact on the sport.
Harnesses offered are constructed of Polyester or KEVLAR® and include loops utilizing a NOMEX® IIIA overwrap with NOMEX stitching. Strengths for Poly harnesses include 1250, 1800 and 2500 lb. and KEVLAR, 1800lb., in standard lengths of 15, 20 and 30 feet. Custom lengths available. Harness Protectors are constructed of NOMEX IIIA fabric with NOMEX stitching available in two widths and 28 in. length.
In the near future, a new line of filament wound KEVLAR / Carbon fabric airframes will be offered for those high-end projects requiring high performance components.
