BATON ROUGE, Louisianna USA -- Giant Leap Rocketry, Inc. has released the EASYGLAS SOCK, a thin stretchy sleeve that simplifies airframe lamination.

Traditional fiberglassing methods according to Ed at Giant Leap "are tricky, and involve wrapping cloth around a tube. It's time consuming, messy and, worst of all, leaves an overlap ridge that has to be sanded down." Instead, the EASYGLAS SOCK just slides over the tube and is held in place by it's natural elasticity. No vacuum bagging or extensive sanding is required.

The EASYGLAS SOCK is not fiberglass, but is made of a material that readily absorbs resin and adds structural strength. Ed maintains that the EASYGLAS SOCK finishes to a ready-to-paint surface (unlike the Kevlar Sock). The EASYGLAS SOCK is about as thick as 3 or 4 oz fiberglass cloth.
