MISSISSAUGA, Ontario CAN -- ARG is now producing their 1/10 th scale line of Canadian sounding rockets--BLACK BRANTS. BLACK BRANT I, II, IV and V's are built around a 1.72" diameter tube and intended to be flown on 24mm (C through E) motors.

The BLACK BRANT III's are built around a 1.02" diameter tube and powered by standard 18mm motors. All fins are laser cut and depending on vehicle are either balsa or plywood. Other features include: kevlar & elastic shock cord, balsa nose cones and adapters, water slide and vinyl decals (depending on vehicle), laser cut fin boots, and more.

BLACK BRANT IV and BLACK BRANT V kits will start being shipped October 21, 2002. Prior to Christmas, four different versions of the BLACK BRANT II, both three and four finned versions will be shipping.

ARG will strive to make available as many versions of the BLACK BRANTS as possible. Are current plans call for a series of BLACK BRANTS from the BLACK BRANT I through to the BLACK BRANT XII, plus a series of "designed but never built" (DNB) BLACK BRANTS.

Also available are T-shirts with the National Research Council (NRC) / Space Facilities Research Branch (SFRB) logo in blue on a white or yellow shirt.
