North Coast Rocketry® by Estes Industries announces the Orbit™ High Impulse® model rocket launch set at the 1998 National Model & Hobby Show.

This incredible flying model rocket roars into the air under Dark Star™ power, with the capability of reaching altitudes in excess of 3300 feet! It is one of the highest flying model rocket kits available! The experience of seeing this rocket fly is incredible!

The rocket kit features a one-piece fin unit, high visibility gold finish, and heavy wall tubes for durability. Construction is a snap, and no painting is required. The Orbit™ is recovered by a 4" x 60" (10 cm x 152 cm) fluorescent streamer. Because the rocket weighs less than a pound at liftoff, no FAA notification is required.

The Orbit™ Launch Set also comes with the Modular™ Launch Pad and High Impulse® Launch Controller. Just add glue, batteries, motors, and wadding, and you're all set to fly!

To fly the Orbit™ to peak altitudes, North Coast Rocketry® is also announcing a new Dark Star™ motor, the F62-9. The long delay of this motor allows the Orbit™ to coast to maximum altitude before streamer ejection. It is ideal for small, high performance rockets.

Like the other Dark Star™ motors, it offers unparalleled reliability, incredible performance, and the trademark dark, dense smoke. The motor will be packaged one per blister card, with a Laserfire™ igniter and complete instructions.
