BATON ROUGE, Lousianna USA — Giant Leap Rocketry, Inc. has released their new Heavy Extreme Launch Rail. This rail is similar to their well-known Standard Extreme Rail, but the Heavy Extreme is longer and beefier.

Made for heavier rockets, it is 10 feet long and has a long reinforcing spine that reduces flex and increases strength. The Heavy Extreme uses the same sized rail slots as the Standard Extreme (and the same as the BlackSky rail). The rail is ideal for use with the Acme conformal rail guides.

This rail easily handled a 70 pound rocket and fits on pads that takes a 1/2" rod. Ed, of Giant Leap Rocketry, used this rail on his 55 lbs. level-3 project.

Note: this is NOT the larger rail previously known as the "Senior Extreme" which required large rail guides of a nonstandard size. Giant Leap no longer carries the Senior Extreme.

The Heavy Extreme uses the same rail guides as on the standard extreme but it is meant for heavy rockets. The Heavy Extreme rails were widely used at LDRS 2002 in Amarillo. According to Ed, "they performed flawlessly." Prices are $139.95 for a 10' section!
