ImageCOTOPAXI, Colorada USA — The Southern Colorado Rocketeers (NAR Section #632) announces its schedule for Model Rocket Building and Flying for 2007.

Model Rocket "Make and Take" Building sessions are held on the second Saturday of the month at the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum located on the grounds of the Pueblo Memorial Airport (PUB). The aircraft museum is located six miles east of Pueblo, CO on US Highway 50 East/Colorado 96 East.

Museum admission is $3 for persons aged 10 years and over. This is half the normal museum admission price. The rockets are free. A pack of three motors may be purchased in the museum gift shop for $6. This is a building only session and flying is done one week later at the clubs' launch site on the Hudson Ranch located southwest of Pueblo Colorado. Building time starts at 9 AM and takes approximately one and a half hours to complete. Instruction includes model rocket safety and basic instruction on how a model rocket works and basic aerodynamics. Call or email the club to see how "Make and Take" can be brought to your location.

Model Rocket Flying is held on the third Saturday of the month on the grounds of the Hudson Ranch. Go 9.5 miles South West on Colorado Highway 78 (Beulah Highway) and turn right into the drive way. Follow the signs to the launch site. This is a working ranch so please close the gates. The section has an FAA Waiver to 8,000 feet Above Ground Level (AGL). The club provides launch equipment for most model and large model rockets. Those wishing to fly High Power Rockets (HPR) should contact the club if you require special ground support equipment. Flying generally starts at 9 AM and concludes by 1 PM.

Model rocket flying may also be brought to a location such as a school or church with a suitable area for flying nearby. Please contact the club for additional information.

There is no charge to fly model or large model rockets. Non-club members flying High Power Rockets (those persons required to hold an L1, L2, or L3 license issued by the National Association of Rocketry (NAR), Tripoli, or comparable licence issued by the Canadian Association of Rocketry (CAR)) are requested to pay a $5 launch fee for the day. There are no fees for club members. Call or email the NAR Section for information on becoming a member of the club. There are club memberships for groups such as CAP Squadrons, churches, youth groups, etc. Please contact the NAR Section about becoming a member of the section.

February 17, 2007: Model Rocket and High Power Rocket Flying Day at the Hudson Ranch. Start time 9 AM. Flying usually ends at approximately 1 PM.

March 10, 2007: Model Rocket "Make and Take" at the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum starting at 9 AM.
March 17, 2007: Model Rocket and High Power Rocket Flying Day at the Hudson Ranch. Start time 9 AM. Flying usually ends at approximately 1 PM.

April 14, 2007: Model Rocket "Make and Take" at the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum starting at 9 AM.
April 21, 2007: Model Rocket and High Power Rocket Flying Day at the Hudson Ranch. Start time 9 AM. Flying usually ends at approximately 1 PM.

May 12, 2007: Model Rocket "Make and Take" at the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum starting at 9 AM.
May 19. 2007: Model Rocket and High Power Rocket Flying Day at the Hudson Ranch. Start time 9 AM. Flying usually ends at approximately 1 PM.

June 9, 2007: Model Rocket "Make and Take" at the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum starting at 9 AM.
June 16, 2007: Model Rocket and High Power Rocket Flying Day at the Hudson Ranch. Start time 9 AM. Flying usually ends at approximately 1 PM.

July 14, 2007: Model Rocket "Make and Take" at the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum starting at 9 AM.
July 21, 2007: Model Rocket and High Power Rocket Flying Day at the Hudson Ranch. Start time 9 AM. Flying usually ends at approximately 1 PM.

August 11, 2007: Model Rocket "Make and Take" at the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum starting at 9 AM.
August 18, 2007: Model Rocket and High Power Rocket Flying Day at the Hudson Ranch. Start time 9 AM. Flying usually ends at approximately 1 PM.

September 8, 2007: Model Rocket "Make and Take" at the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum starting at 9 AM.
September 15, 2007: Model Rocket and High Power Rocket Flying Day at the Hudson Ranch. Start time 9 AM. Flying usually ends at approximately 1 PM.

October 13, 2007: Model Rocket "Make and Take" at the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum starting at 9 AM.
October 20, 2007: Model Rocket and High Power Rocket Flying Day at the Hudson Ranch. Start time 9 AM. Flying usually ends at approximately 1 PM.

November 10, 2007: Model Rocket "Make and Take" at the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum starting at 9 AM.
November 17, 2007: Model Rocket and High Power Rocket Flying Day at the Hudson Ranch. Start time 9 AM. Flying usually ends at approximately 1 PM.

December 8, 2007: Model Rocket "Make and Take" at the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum starting at 9 AM.
December 15, 2007: Model Rocket and High Power Rocket Flying Day at the Hudson Ranch. Start time 9 AM. Flying usually ends at approximately 1 PM.

Flying dates are dependent on weather and drought conditions. Please contact the club prior to launch day.
