MIRIMAR, California USA — Aero Pack International has modified the design of their popular 29mm, 38mm and 54mm Quick-Change Motor Retainers by adding a lip on the inside diameter of the retainer body. This provides three additional features to the design.

First, it eliminates the need to mark the motor mount tube for positioning the retainer body when bonding. All that is required is to push the retainer onto the sanded tube until it seats against the inner lip of the retainer body.

Second, it prevents the possibility of misalignment by keeping the retainer square to the end of the motor mount tube.

Third, the motors thrust ring (aft closure or snap ring) will now seat against the aluminum lip preventing damage to the end of the paper or phenolic motor mount tube (such as after repeated high impulse applications in heavy rockets).

Also, they are compatible with the previous retainer bodies and caps. This design change does not increase the price.
