WORLD WIDE WEB — The following report for Thursday, June 12, 2003, 4 PM EDT, was provided by John Kyte, Congressional Liaison for the NAR and TRA:
The Enzi bill, S.724, was held over in the Senate Judiciary Committee today, as expected, by Sen. Hatch on the premise that progress is being made toward an agreement. We continue to work with the staffs of Sens. Enzi, Hatch and Kohl to discuss options, but the weight limits being proposed are extremely low. No commitments or agreements of any kind have been made.
Discussions will not resume until Monday. Members should expect no further updates until then.
IMPORTANT: It is NOT necessary or helpful for members to take action at this time. We will inform members as soon as possible should letters, calls and/or faxes become necessary.
