ALTOONA, Wisconsin USA — Mark Bundick, President of the National Association of Rocketry, speaking about possible S.724 action, writes:

I've been asked by NAR members as to where the NAR stands on its support for S724, in particular a planned call to action for letters, faxes, etc. to one or more members of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

As Sen. Enzi was preparing to leave the Team America Rocketry Challenge, I thanked him for attending, and pledged the NAR's support to the passage of his legislation. I had delivered the same message to Candice Cotton, the staff assistant working this particular bill for the Senator. Nothing that has transpired in the past month has changed my stance on the NAR's support for the Senator.

I am prepared to ask NAR members to write in whatever manner the Senator or his staff members feels best supports the legislation.

As the Senator and his staff are not in Washington this weekend, I have no confirmation from them that this action is what they want the NAR to undertake. I will seek confirmation of that on Monday, and report to NAR members regarding next steps, if any, they should take.

Mark B. Bundick, President
National Association of Rocketry
