WINGHAM CANTERBURY, Kent UK — Rocket Store has been investigating epoxy products for a while and looking for a suitable one to stock for UK rocketeers. Although West Sytems is available from many marine sources in the UK, the Aeropoxy products have a higher resistence to heat as they are designed for aviation use.

With no current distributor within the United Kingdom, Rocket Store decided to become a distributor for Aeropoxy products. They will be stocking their adhesive epoxy, filler and laminating epoxy.

Structural Adhesive. ES6209 is a translucent, straw coloured, two component epoxy adhesive with a thick, liquid consistency. ES6209 is an excellent structural adhesive for use when good flow and surface wetting are required. Though pourable, ES6209 has a controlled flow viscosity to minimize run-out from the adhesive joint. The 1 to 1 combining ratio by weight or volume makes it easy to measure and mix. The working time of over an hour provides plenty of time to coat and assemble the materials to be bonded. The full datasheet is available here.

Lightweight Filler. Aeropoxy Light is a two-component paste epoxy patching and filler compound for foam, wood, fiberglass and other surfaces. The mixed consistency is very smooth, so it spreads easily and can be splined to a feather edge without separation. It is a thixotropic, non-sag material that will remain in place in thick sections, even when applied upside down! AEROPOXY Light is a very light material, and therefore contributes minimal added weight to the filled or repaired structure. The cured material is very easy to sand, making the finished patch undetectable when covered or painted. The full datasheet is available here.

Laminating System. PR2032 resin is a medium viscosity, unfilled, light amber laminating resin that is designed for use in fabricating composite parts and other demanding structural applications. This resin laminates very easily, and wets out fiberglass, carbon and aramid fibers readily. PR2032 has excellent cured properties, with particularly good flexural strength, and high heat resistance with a room temperature cure. Three hardeners are provided for PR2032 that provide different working times to suit the size and type of laminate or part. The full datasheet is available here.
