CEDAR CITY, Utah USA — The RCS Institute of Experimental Rocket Technology (IERT) "Advanced Propellant Formulation Formulation and Processing Course" held December 4 - 6 was a big hit with course participants.

Students were instructed in areas of terminology and nomenclature, propellant safety, ingredient selection, advanced propellant formulation and processing techniques and other topics. Included in the course was a facility tour, motor static test, and oxidizer grinding, propellant mixing, casting and machining demonstrations. Here's what some of the participants had to say about their experience:

"It was a great course! Lots of info in a short time. You have a great blend of classroom, plant tour, live-fire demo, hands-on training all wrapped up in a single course! ...You did great at getting all material covered & in good time- You did good by your schedule! ...Your pre-requisite for the course to have read Terry McCreary's book was great."

"I enjoyed the class. It allowed us to to see the formulation behind motors as well as production."

"Great course. Really covers well how to safely make propellant easily."

"I thought this course was great!"

The next course date is being planned for January and will be announced soon. See the "Classes" page on the RCS website at http://www.rocketmotorparts.com for more information.
