COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado USA -- Apogee Components is please to announce that the RockSim v4.00 software is now complete, and orders are being taken.

The new software has been enhanced in so many ways that it is almost like a new program. But it still retains the same feel of the older versions, so you won't need to learn a new interface all over. Many people have said that RockSim is one of the easiest programs to use.

The main new feature of RockSim v4.00 is the ability to predict the flight trajectory of a model rocket in the presence of wind. This is often refered to as Dynamic Stability. And you don't need to be an aeronautical engineer to understand it, as RockSim v4.00 creates a movie of the rocket's flight. You can simply watch and see how the rocket performs, whether it weathercocks excessively, or goes unstable. Once you view this movie, you'll never watch the flight of a real rocket in the same way again. You'll be watching to confirm RockSim's predictions. This is both fun and educational.

RockSim v4.00 also has a totally new graphing software package. This allows you to really exploit the data generated. You can zoom in on any area of the graph, pick points off the curves, and even export the data to other spreadsheet programs. Plus, you can modify the x-axis of the graphs to other variables (besides 'time'), so that hidden data is revealed.

Apogee has also listened to the users of the program, and now allow fins with any shape! You don't have to be limited to trapazoids and elliptical fins anymore. Plus, there are lots of other enhancements that make the program even more powerful, and easier to use!

While the software is now completed, the web site is not updated to list the new features. This will be done in the coming days. There will also be a new demo version of the program created which you can download free. This will be completed in a couple of weeks. It will be located on the Apogee Components web site.

The price of the new version is $50 (plus shipping fees). Registered users of previous versions can upgrade to this new one for only $15 (plus shipping fees). You can place orders on the Apogee Components web site, or call directly (the telephone line may be busy, please be patient). If you use the online order system, you can download the program immediately upon approval of your credit card (look carefully at the approval sheet after placing your order -- the instructions are kinda hidden).

If you have placed a pre-order for the program, you should receive instructions to download the file in the next day or two. Thanks for being so patient.
