WORLD WIDE WEB — Western Space Technology (WST) has recently released Version 2.0 of the Space and Rocketry Resource Disk. This compact disk is geared toward both space and rocketry enthusiasts, bringing the astro-hobby together as one.
This resource tool points out repeatedly the connection between commercial and hobby rocketry, as well as rocketry and space science. As amatuer rocket scientists, focus cannot be placed solely on designing hobby rockets, but must also be placed on the rest of rocket science — orbital mechanics, launch vehicles, spacecraft design, and reasons for launching rockets. This disk will help give that new focus. The 200+MB of information and thousands of internet links are navigated through a great html-based user interface that leads the user directly to the information. Some of the subjects include satellite mission and design, astronomy, planetary data, Mars and moon colonization, rocket propulsion design, motor making, scale data, rocket plans and pictures, ground support equipment, space programs, launch vehicles of the world, and teaching resources. The CD also includes the design pages from the Rocket Design Notebook, all WST Technical Reports, and excerpts from "The Rocket Files". WST is continuing to provide free upgrades to all customers who purchase this CD. Free Version 2 disks will be shipped to Version 1 owners in the upcoming weeks. The Space and Rocketry Resource Disk can be purchased online at http://westspacetech.9f.com for $15. |
