BATON ROUGE, Louisiana USA — Giant Leap Rocketry, Inc. has released a newly designed 98mm Slimline retainer which is internally threaded. The 98mm Slimline has a number of new features including a rear flange that grips behind the aft centering ring.

Ed Shihadeh of Giant Leap says that "the rear centering ring would have to tear out of the rocket before this retainer releases it's grip." The internal hole on your rear centering ring has to be slightly oversized to allow part of the retainer to go behind it. Customers can ream out their existing rings, or purchase them ready-made from Giant Leap.

Internally, the new threaded retainer has a shoulder stop for the motor tube so no measuring is required for installation. The retainer comes in three parts: a base, a threaded ring, and a tool (optional). You purchase one base for each rocket. But to save money, only one threaded ring (and one tool) is required for your whole fleet.
