BATON ROUGE, Louisiana USA — Giant Leap Rocketry, Inc. has secured the exclusive rights to the TAC-1 parachute. The TAC-1 is a new high-end parachute that is intended for the most demanding applications in high power rocketry.

It is available in 24", 36", 48" 60" and 72". Larger certification-3 applications are coming soon. "Like other high-end parachutes, the TAC-1 has silicone-coated low-porosity rip-stop nylon. But there are several advantages to the TAC-1," according to Ed Shihadeh of Giant Leap.

  1. The TAC-1 parachute has 1/2" tubular nylon lines (#1400 lbs. test) all the way around the canopy.
  2. Ed also points out that "there are only four suspension lines to reduce the possibility of tangling."
  3. "Every seam," according the Ed, "is reinforced with nylon webbing."
  4. The barrel swivel is the largest available, at #1500. It is included on all sizes of TAC-1 chute, from 24" to 72".
  5. Ed points out that "the chute is priced lower than comparable chutes inthe high-end market."

Dealer inquiries are welcome. For more information about the TAC-1 parachute, please check out the webpage
