BATON ROUGE, Louisiana USA — Giant Leap Rocketry has released a new 54mm blow-molded nosecone, and it incorporates several new features.
According to Ed Shihadeh of Giant Leap Rocketry, the nosecone has several important features: - The nosecone is very long. It has a 5-to-1 exposed length, the longest available in the industry.
- It also has a 3" long shoulder for maximum stability.
- The shoulder also has 3 ribs that can be sanded to ensure a good fit onto the bodytube.
- The base of the nosecone incorporates a 1/2" long plug that can be tapped for a 1/4" eyebolt.
- It also has extra-wide tabs at the base for securing a quiklink. These tabs, Ed points out, are specifically designed to hold during a severe deployment.
- The mold itself, as well as the blow-molding process, are optimized to ensure that the nosecone is perfectly concentric.
Other sizes are in the works. For more detail about the new nosecone, visit the Giant Leap website at: http://www.giantleaprocketry.com/products_whatsnew.asp
