BATON ROUGE, Louisiana USA — Giant Leap Rocketry, Inc. has released their the Talon 4. It is available for immediate delivery. The TALON 4 is an upscale of the well-known Talon 3, except it is larger. It has a 3.9" diameter airframe and is nearly 8 feet long.
The motor mount tube is 54mm. The kit has six fins machined out of .093 G-10. It features a pre-slotted airframe and a pre-slotted boattail that is machined to accept the included Slimline retainer.
According to Ed at Giant Leap "this kit is made by the original designer of the TALON series. It is intended to be the best-of-the-best with features like an avionics bay, pre-sewn shockcords, Kevlar chute protectors & sleeves, Acme rail guides, Easyglas sock for phenolic airframe, decal, detailed instructions and a Slimline Retainer. All hardware included (Quiklinks, Eyebolts, Allthreads, etc.)." The kit also comes with a specially produced video to help you build it. It is dual deployment but can be used as a single deployment kit if you prefer.
TALON 4 is $169.95 (immediate delivery) phenolic airframe with Easyglas sock and plastic nosecone and boattail.
Fiberglass upgrade is an additional $159.95 includes glass nosenose, glass boattail and glass airframe. Other upgrades are available as well.
A TALON 3 and TALON 6 will soon be available.
