LEMONT, Illinois USA -- Balsa Machining Service, in cooperation with Apogee Components, is pleased to announce the capability of laser cutting fins direct from Rocksim 4.0 files!

Once the design is complete all you need to do is place the Rocksim .rkt 4.00 file file on a floppy disk, fill out the simple order form along with appropriate payment and send it to BMS. A set of four 1.8" x 2.6" fins cut from 1/16" aircraft ply costs only $3.15!

In addition, centering rings in a variety of shapes can also be specified using the same "semi-custom" shape method currently used for the semi-custom nose cones that has been BMS's mainstay for the last 7 years.

Our capability for fins are from 1.0" x 1.0" up to 11.5" x 17.0". Centering rings go up to 11.0" in diameter. Currently available materials include: birch plywood & balsa wood in the following thicknesses: 1/32", 1/16", 3/32", 1/8", 3/16", & 1/4". Balsa-ply is also available in 1/8", 5/32", 3/16" & 1/4".

We plan to process all fin & centering ring orders within 1 week and ship via priority mail.

A new catalog (#7) is currently available on our web site at http://user.mc.net/~bms. First printed copies will be distributed at NARCON on March 26th and sent out with all orders received after that date.

Major catalog and web site improvements includes drawings of all our 50+ stock nose cones.

Previously one had to rely on old copies of Estes catalogs to know what the various shapes looked like. Now they will be viewable using an internet browser or down-loadable as an Adobe Acrobat PDF file.

Summary:

Balsa Machining Service has just added laser machining capability to its already existing nose cone turning operation. Of significance to the small volume user is the ability to laser cut fins directly from Rocksim data files!

This means NO SETUP COSTS and fast turnaround time. Laser cut centering rings in a variety of configurations are also easily specified using standard "shape" diagrams similar to our existing line of semi-custom nose cones.

Also, drawings of all our stock nose cone shapes will be viewable at our web site or in our new catalog #7.
