BATON ROUGE, Louisiana USA — Giant Leap Rocketry, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of it's latest Almost-Ready-to-Fly kit, the 2.6" diameter Escape Velocity. Like their Vertical Assault kit, Escape Velocity is based around the pre-molded fin canister, with the fincan fitting on the inside of the airframe, so there's no "hump" on the outside of the airframe.

According to Ed at Giant Leap, "it is a low-drag design intended for very high performance. It's called Escape Velocity...for good reason." Escape Velocity is 2.6" in diameter, almost 64" long, and has a 38mm motormount (adaptable to 29mm). It features a pre-molded fincan, pre-slotted tubing, a drogue and 36" main chute, KEVLAR® Chute protectors, KEVLAR® pre-sewn shockcords, avionics bay, Acme rail guides, hardware, illustrated instruction booklet, and a vinyl decal in stylized font.

Dual deployment is standard, but this kit can be flown in a single deployment configuration. Giant Leap markets this kit as a quick-build, high performance rocket. Estimated altitude is about 1200 feet on an H128, or nearly 7000 feet on a J570. Ed points out that "since the fincan is pre-molded and perfectly aligned, Escape Velocity flies straight as and true."
