WORLD WIDE WEB — Eagle Tree Systems is pleased to announce their GPS Expander Module for the Eagle Tree Data Recorder and Seagull Dashboard Telemetry systems. Units are currently in stock and ready to ship.

The GPS equipped systems are ideal for high powered model rocketry, as they are light weight, have integrated high power spread spectrum telemetry, and have an variety of sensors and features available, including Gforce, temperature, etc.

This system is completely wireless with pitot/static airspeed, barometric altitude, temperature, GPS, and a LCD dashboard display unit (no laptop is required).

With the GPS Expander Module, the Eagle Tree Data Recorder and Seagull Wireless Telemetry systems become GPS enabled. A rocketeer can log rocket position, visualize the rocket on a graph against a photo image of the field, and see the position of the rocket on the Seagull Dashboard screen or on a laptop via the Windows Virtual Dashboard software.

Features enabled with the GPS Expander Module:

  • Pitot/Static Airspeed, Barometric Altitude, Temperatures, G-force, current, voltage and RPMs
  • Lat/Lon, GPS Speed, GPS Altitude, Course, Distance to Operator, and UTC timestamp
  • Last known position displayed on Seagull Dashboard for easy location of a lost rocket (with a separate handheld GPS to guide you to the location)
  • 2D and 3D position graphing in the Virtual Dashboard software, with support for overlaid images of the field
  • GPS Altitude to 18KM
  • GPS Speed to 515M/S
  • Built-in Battery backup for fast position locating on restart
  • Low power draw (approx. 33 mA)
  • Small size: dimensions approx 45mm x 50 mm x 10mm and weighs around 23 grams
  • Position accuracy 7 meters CEP (90%)
  • Logging of position throughout the flight
