Estes Model Rocket News was a staple for many early model rocketeers, keeping the enthusiast in touch with what was going on in the hobby as well as in the Estes home office. This document, Model Rocket News, The Best of Volume 1 and 2 is a collection of articles from their first two volumes.
In this document, you will find articles about launching various insects into space, Estes take on model rocketry vs. amateur rocketry, a model rocket glossary, an altitude tracking technical report, plans from The Idea Box, three complete model rocket plans, even an article about launching a fish into space! The newsletter has been captured and converted to Adobe PDF format to share with the readers. Sixteen pages in length, the article is 7897K in size. To view the article, click here. You will need Adobe Reader to view the article. If you do not have Adobe Reader, a copy may be downloaded for free from the Adobe website at http://www.adobe.com/.
Part of the challenge we face in the hobby is the archival and preservation of these old sources of information on our hobby. Adobe PDF format makes a great medium for the collection and storage of these types of documents because of its portability and cross-platform approach. Model Rocket News, Best of Volumes 1 and 2, circa 1963
Luckily, this is one Estes item I saved from my teenage years. I am presently 53. Guess one of my sons will inherit it.

Well they will inherit a thing of true value. While no one can put a price on your childhood memories, eBay has certainly tried. It would probably bring a small fortune in another 10-20 years.
