SAN DIEGO, California USA — Polecat Aerospace announces the release of their newest kit, the 5.5" diameter MIM-23 B Army Hawk. This great flying scale model offers a unique look and solid construction. Standing 71" tall and weighing approximately 14 pounds, the new Hawk comes equipped with a 54mm motor mount.
Like all Polecat Aerospace kits, the Army Hawk also features laser-cut fin slots in combination with a pre-glassed airframe, laser-cut 1/4" Baltic Birch fins, centering rings and bulkhead plates, all CNC-routed. The nose cone and boat tail are all gelcoated fiberglass for easy finishing. Designed for I through L motors, the Hawk is a great choice for L1 and L2 certification and sport flying. With it's split fin design it makes a unique sound on those short, punchy motors. The kit is ready for dual-deployment, with a coupler-based electronics compartment offering easy access to the electronics and simple mounting on a large removable sled. All hardware and shock cords for recovery are included, along with standard rail buttons. No parachutes are included—the design calls for a user-supplied 58" - 84" main parachute, along with a drogue for apogee if desired. The Army Hawk is available now from What's Up Hobbies and other Polecat retailers. Suggested retail price is $249.95.
