ImageSAN JOSE, California USA — From an online discussion to the designer's drawing board to the machine shop, Rouse-Tech is pleased to announce the availability of their new 38mm Monster Motor tapped forward closure, compatible with all 38mm Rouse-Tech Monster Motors, AeroTech 38mm RMS™ motors and Dr. Rocket 38mm Reloadable Motor Systems™.

It was just this past December when an online discussion exposed the demand for a tapped 38mm forward closures so fliers could utilize a recovery attachment point in conjunction with electronic recovery deployment.  Fliers were already using electronics to control parachute deployment and were already comfortable with using plugged forward closures.  The step from plugged to plugged-and-tapped seemed like a natural progression.

Tom Rouse of Rouse-Tech stepped into the discussion, saying if the demand were there and AeroTech, the RMS license holder, would provide the plans and drawings, he would put them into production.  Representatives from AeroTech facilitated in the production of the CAD drawings for the closures, provided them to Rouse and he sent them to the machinist.  Two months later and the product is ready for use.

The 38mm design is a tapped and plugged design, featuring a 5/16"-18 thread and natural aluminum anodizing.  No motor ejection is possible using the tapped plugged closure, so it must be used in conjunction with electronic recovery deployment.  The 38mm tapped forward closure is available now, joining the other tapped forward closures available for 54mm, 75mm and 98mm RMS motors.

Rouse-Tech has refreshed their stock of RMS 29mm plugged forward closures as well after a short period of the stock being depleted, and are also available for immediate delivery.

RMS™ and Reloadable Motor System™ are trademarks of AeroTech Consumer Rocketry in the United States.
