Over the last year, Newton's 3rd researched a number of solutions and conducted hundreds of tests. The result is their HotWire ejection canister. The heart of the HotWire ejection canister is the initiator chip; this assembly is formed on a PCB substrate to fully support the nichrome bridge element. This solid mounting results in a nearly indestructible, highly reliable product. The unique PowderLok powder retention system keeps the powder charge securely in contact with the element at all times. Features of the HotWire ejection canister include:
The HotWire ejection canister has been tested using the following popular altimeters:
The HotWire Ejection Canisters come in two sizes:
These ejection canisters are NOT recommended for altimeters using a single N cell for power. As these altimeters provide a very low current ignition pulse. Always static test these canisters with any altimeter before relying on them for flight use. Although Newton’s 3rd Rocketry strives to make this product as compatible as possible, some electronics may not produce enough output to reliably fire. Although these canisters can be shipped and possessed without regulation, once powder is added, they become a regulated item. It is the responsibility of the end user to comply with all applicable laws. Website: http://www.newtons3rdrocketry.com/ No reader comments
