ImagePLYMOUTH, Michigan USA — Mike Scopone and Uncle Mike's Rocket Shack have been named as Orbital Engineering's USA dealer for Orbital's line of VMX Spaceplanes.  Orbital announced that Uncle Mike's will soon receive a shipment of VMX-2 and VMX-12 kits in addition to the remote controlled VMX-20 Voodoo for demonstration flights of a kit due to be released this summer.

Unlike many rocket gliders, VMX Spaceplanes actually look like SSTO spacecraft.  A VMX Spaceplane fills the niche between model aircraft fliers thinking about rocketry and rocket fliers interested in aircraft. VMS Spaceplanes are kits made of top-quality components featuring high quality balsa and outstanding CNC cutting.

Designed with a full size space plane in mind, which would have to endure extreme flight envelopes, these light but strong airframes have survivability built-in. The balsa is carefully selected and beautifully cut by a top manufacturer to give you a head start in constructing a superb space plane. Careful, detailed instructions take you through every aspect of building, finishing, test gliding and flying.

A very stable aircraft at high launch/boost, transition and low glide recovery speeds, the VMX Spaceplane concept is designed to give consistent maximum altitude launches and long gliding flights.
