ImageWORLD WIDE WEB — On Thursday, May 3rd, 2007 at 6:29PM EDT, Arianespace will launch an Ariane 5 rocket with the Astra 1L and Galaxy 17 dual-satellite payload. Rocketry Planet has made arrangements to broadcast the launch live in one of our chat rooms. The webcast will begin at 6:09PM EDT, with an 44 minute launch window opening at 6:29PM EDT.

The Launch Readiness Review (RAL) took place in Kourou on Monday, April 30, 2007 and authorized count-down operations for the launch. For its second launch of the year Arianespace will boost two communications satellites into orbit: Astra 1L for the Luxembourg-based operator SES Astra, and Galaxy 17 for the international operator Intelsat. Through proven reliability and availability, Arianespace and Ariane continue to set the launch service standard for the world's leading space communications operators. It will be launched from the Ariane launch complex N° 3 (ELA3), in Kourou, French Guiana.

The webcast is only available to registered users, but registration is easy and free. You must be logged in prior to entering the webcast and you must enter the special Arianespace Live Webcast link to view the webcast. To enter the webcast, simply click the link below:
