ImageWORLD WIDE WEB — Essence's Model Rocketry Reviews (EMRR) has introduced a new "virtual" rocket contest. The theme for this contest is NASROC.

This is the 13th "virtual" rocket contest held at EMRR and it utilizes Apogee Components RockSIM™ software to perform the various events in each contest. Other software or even "paper" submissions will be excepted and converted into a RockSIM file.

In this contest entrants will be provided two rockets, one low power and one mid/high power, from the list of approved NASROC's. Entrants will attempt to improve upon the design of the rocket without changing exterior dimensions (length and diameter), shapes (fins and nose cone), quantity of fins, and the other requirements of the contest.

Entrants will also submit their very own "NASROC of the future" to show off their design capabilities without NASROC's restrictions.

Entrants will then compete in a variety of events with approved motors to win absolutely awesome prizes.

In the past there have been 70 different participants in the previous "virtual" contests. It has been said to teach entrants more about RockSIM and real-rocket design. It is a great way to have fun and relieve the anxiety of not being able to fly on a rainy day!

EMRR would like to express special thanks to the many sponsors of this event including (alphabetically):

  • Aerotech
  • Aerospace Speciality Products
  • Apogee Components
  • Art Applewhite Rockets
  • Binder Design
  • FlisKits
  • LOC/Precision
  • Public Missiles
  • Quest Aerospace
  • SpaceCAD
  • Squirrel Works
  • Thrustline Aerospace
