LAKE HAVASU CITY, Arizona USA — Available immediately, Contrail Rockets announces four new parts for Contrail hybrid motors. The new parts allows for a forward retention point on all 38mm and 54mm monotube hybrid motors. Two different designs allow for either adding a retention point to non-retention-type bulkheads, or new full-retention-type bulkheads with the rentention built in.

The first 2 parts available are Retention Add-ons, add-on pieces to current 38mm and 54mm motors. This piece allows for a non-retention-type bulkhead to add a retention point to the hardware. The piece fits directly on top of the current 38mm and 54mm bulkheads, between the bulkhead and forward snap ring. It allows for a shock cord or parachute to be connected to the motor for a secure attachment point.

The other two items available are the Full Retention Bulkheads, a complete retention-type bulkhead for 38mm and 54mm motors. The new bulkheads are a direct replacement for the old-style bulkhead with no retention point. Both parts are a single-piece aluminum bulkhead with threaded vent fitting included. The retention point allows for easy access on the top of the motor for attaching parachutes and shock cords while still keeping the assembly of the motor the same. The Full Retention Bulkheads come anodized black to match all current Contrail Rockets hardware.
