I agree with Stu. Although I am sorry I had to rush off at the end there, I really do enjoy being able to watch in a "lounge" atmosphere. Thanks Darrell!

You are welcome!
Hey, even I had to rush off at the end and mow the yard, but real life can be that way.
I had a great time, and it was a great launch. It was nice seeing that many people taking advantage of the webcasts. We had 25 people at one time!
For what it's worth, I posted a similar announcement on TRF, with the title "Join us for live webcast of NASA STS-117 launch." Some TRF user posted a similar post titled "Join us in the TRF chatroom for the STS-117 launch" with this message: Why not come into the TRF chatroom whilst watching the STS-117 webcast?
I've made arrangements to link to both the chatroom and the NASA TV webcast of the launch, so with a bit of cunning window resizing you can enjoy both the shuttle launch (Scheduled for 07:38pm EDT) and a rocketry chatroom where people actually chat!" What does THAT mean?

It means you are doing something right!
It means you are doing something right. I read the post, the person was obviously taking a jab at you. He said he had "made arrangments" just like your post says, and it was obvious the only "arrangements" he had made was to post a message with a link to the TRF chat and a link to the NASA-TV site in it. Those aren't arrangements, they are a dig, just like the comments about "a rocketry chat room where people actually chat."
If that is the type of people who occupy the TRF chat room, then I don't want to be a part of it. It's childish, immature and obviously well-intended (as well as supported by the moderators) for TRF.
Whenever you get people discussing things like this, it means you are making a difference to them that they feel the need to speak out about, that they feel they have to do something about to try to stop or defer the activity. If the TRF chat room was that successful, they wouldn't worry about losing a few to a competing site. Rocketry Planet continues to grow in an unprecedented manner and that probably has more than just a few people worried. It sure has more than a few taking notice.
