ImageIRVING, Texas USA — Bob Korman, president of Roadrunner Rocketry, maker of low and mid-power single-use rocket motors, has received word that Tripoli Rocketry Association's TMT motor testing division has completed certification of Roadrunner's new F45 rocket motor.

Roadrunner Rocketry's newly certified F45 29mm single-use motor.

The F45 utilizes Roadrunner's Rapid propellant and is certified with 62.25 N-seconds total impulse and 62 Newtons peak thrust.  It contains 30 grams of propellant with a 1.45 second burn time. TMT certified three versions of the motor: 5 second delay, 8 second delay and a plugged configuration.

According to Paul Holmes, chairman of TMT, "The thrust curve for this motor is a simple square wave, going to 12 pounds immediately, then slowly rising to about 14 pounds at the 0.42 second point, returning to 12 at the 0.9 second point where it drops to zero at the 1.4-1.5 second point."

These single use motors are fully assembled and utilize a one-piece molded casing, the motors have been extensively tested and have proven to be highly reliable and easily ignited.  The F45 is also approved by the California State Fire Marshal for sale and use in the state of California.
