ImageARGONIA, Kansas USA — Continuing a tradition repeated four times before, the KLOUDBusters will once again play host to the Tripoli Rocketry Association's annual high power rocket launch, Large and Dangerous Rocketry Ships. LDRS was previously hosted by KLOUDBusters in 1993, 1994, 1999 and again in 2003.

Operating from the heart of the South Central Kansas prairie, the KLOUDBusters organization epitomizes one of the best high power rocketry clubs in the United States. Featuring a consistent paid membership base of over 100 members, KLOUDBusters has been fortunate enough to maintain the same launch site since 1991.

Located near Argonia, Kansas, the launch site is just a one-hour drive southwest of Wichita. It is the same site that KLOUDBusters hosts three major launches each year as well as the location of the inaugural Discovery Channel "Rocket Challenge" in July 2003.

What separates KLOUDBusters from other clubs across the nation is that exceptional flying field, a 40 acre all-weather field, with recovery easily accomplished in adjacent farmland stretching as far as the eye can see. The waiver for all KLOUDBusters launches is 34,500 feet AGL, with windows to 50,000 feet. All flights over 25,000 feet will require prior approval from the Tripoli Rocketry Association Board of Directors.

With the help of a diverse and talented membership, KLOUDBusters has built an enviable infrastructure that remains on most clubs' wish lists. Beginning with the finest state-of-the-art launch control electronics and extending to their heavy-duty, high-power launch pads, the launch setup has the capability to handle 64 launch pads simultaneously. Launch operations also include a new state-of-the-art public address system, a 20x40 foot circus-style tent for spectator comfort and FM radio broadcasts of the Launch Control Officer's audio.

High power rocketry enthusiasts and their families from all across the country will converge on Argonia, Kansas to enjoy the best-of-the-best at LDRS 2008, scheduled to be held August 28 through September 2, 2008, over the 2008 Labor Day weekend in combination with the Kloudbusters AIRFest annual regional launch. Make your plans now to be there.

More information will be posted when it becomes available.

GREAT!!! I can't make it to LDRS this year due to a recent move and other personal conflicts, but I'm putting Argonia on my calendar right now for '08!
