The Launch Readiness Review (RAL) took place in Kourou on Monday, August 11, 2007 and authorized count-down operations for the launch. For its third "heavy-lift" launch of the year Arianespace will boost two communications satellites into orbit: SPACEWAY 3 for US operator Hughes Network Systems, LLC and BSAT-3a for US manufacturer Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems, within the framework of a turnkey contract for Japanese operator Broadcasting Satellite System Corporation (B-SAT). Through proven reliability and availability, Arianespace and Ariane continue to set the launch service standard for the world's leading space communications operators. It will be launched from the Ariane launch complex N° 3 (ELA3), in Kourou, French Guiana. The webcast is only available to registered users, but registration is easy and free.
