ImageLYONS, Colorado USA — After a very troubling time surrounding a server crash and several failed attempts to restore their site, resulting in the necessity to rebuild from the ground up, Missile Works Corporation's web site is back online and open for business.

Missile Works wishes to extend their apologies for their downtime, and while it couldn't be helped, they want you to know they appreciate your patience.  If you placed an order at the Missile Works site that was never filled, now you know why.  The server crash claimed the entire website, all user accounts, order emails, everything. The good news is the site has been rebuilt using the latest software running on faster, more robust, hardware.

ImageThe big news for fans of Missile Works is the introduction of their newest version of the RRC altimeter, the RRC2-Mini.  According to Jim Amos, Missile Works' owner, said, "There were several reasons why we finally decided to do this, the first and foremost reason being the loss of our thru-hole manufacturers."  The new RRC2-Mini features include:

  • Small "Mini" footprint (just 1" wide x 3.15" long) — 29mm capable
  • Virtually all SMD construction with silicon resin conformal coating to prevent corrosive BP residue damage
  • Sea level to 40,000 MSL operational capability
  • Individually chamber caibrated using the new "Heise" absolute pressure standard (0.001 PSI resolution)
  • Full HIL (Hardware In the Loop) calibration to null out operational tolerances
  • Dedicated "large screw" compression terminals with dedicated power switch connections
  • Easy "2 hole" mounting with 4-40 hardware

Amos added, "We're actively working on several new products, taking advantage of the SMT [surface mount technology] assembly we've been doing for almost the past 2 years."  Those new products are to include a recording and downloadable barometric/inertial altimeter, a high altitude (100K AGL) high accuracy barometric altimeter, new wireless controls, a new multi-channel high current timer, and a sonde instrument package.
