LEXINGTON, Michigan USA — Gordon Agnello of Roachwerks Custom Machining is offering a limited number of his special Nike Hercules kits for sale.  The model stands 37" tall and flies on four 24mm motors.  A smaller version that uses 18mm motors is being planned for a winter release.

The centerpiece of these kits are the custom-machined balsa parts: the nosecone, sustainer tailcone and booster transition.

The booster utilizes four BT-55 tubes each housing a BT-50 motor mount, and comes equipped with engine hooks for "E" engines plus spacers for use with "D" engines.

The sustainer is constructed of BT-70, with the custom-turned balsa tailcone pre-drilled for a BT-50 tube.

The nosecone comes pre-drilled and includes a 4.5 oz. lead noseweight and hardwood plug to provide the proper balance to the CP-CG relationship.

The fins and centering rings are laser cut.  The kit comes with a full recovery system and 30" nylon X-form parachute with instructions on a CD in Adobe PDF format along with CAD drawings, additional PDF drawings of the pattern sheets and a CAD reader.

Water slide decals are available with either white or yellow stencilling.

The kits sell for $140.00 each plus $7.00 shipping.

All of Roackwerks kits/parts & custom made nosecones are top notch. Gordon has made several parts for me in the past. I will continue to use roachwerks for my custom balsa needs.

I only have 6 kits left so I'll be ordering more parts to make another batch.

Wasn't this supposed to be a limited production run? Something like 50 kits only?

-Aaron (proud owner of #10. Still in the box, waiting it's turn in the build queue)

Yes, there is a limit but so far I've only made 40 some kits. I stopped numbering them a while back when I lost track...oops!

I will probably make another 20. but...there may be more. They are very labor intensive to make.

I still have to find the time and resources for the 4 x 18mm Nike Hercules kit too.

None Nike Hercules Kit
Sandman's Nike Herc kit is excellent! I just completed his Nike Herc and it looks great. The instructions, laser cut fins, parachute and for that matter every component of the kit is excellent! Pictures of my completed rocket and a step by step (well sort of) post of the building can be found on the Ye Olde Rocket Forum.
