CEDAR CITY, Utah USA — AeroTech is accepting dealer pre-orders for a number of new RMS™ reload kits that are anticipated to be a huge hit with high-power rocket consumers during the 2007 fall flying season and beyond.
These reload kits include one 29mm and two 38mm designs using AeroTech's newest propellant, Mojave Green™. In addition, AeroTech will be introducing a new reload for its RMS-54/2560 case, the long-burning K270W. Mojave Green propellant generates a vivid green flame with a moderate amount of smoke. Thrust levels and burn times are similar to those produced by motors using AeroTech's Redline™ propellant. AeroTech has found that Mojave Green generates the highest total impulse per volume of any AeroTech propellant, so these reloads are real performers!
The 7.5 second burn K270W has nearly 50% higher output than the next largest long burn 54mm RMS motor, the popular K185W. It produces about 85% of the power of the legendary LMS™ K250W, but costs nearly $110 less! Performance data, specifications and prices for the new motors are as follows: | Reload kit designation | H250G-M | I245G-M | J500G-M | K270W-P | | AeroTech part no. | 08250M | 09245M | 10500M | 11270P | | RMS hardware | 29/240 | 38/360 | 38/720 | 54/2560 | | Total impulse, (N-sec) | 231 | 351 | 723 | 2020 | | Burn time (sec) | 0.9 | 1.4 | 1.4 | 7.5 | | Propellant weight (g) | 116.3 | 181.3 | 362.6 | 1162 | | Loaded motor weight (g) | 256 | 365 | 654 | 2083 | | Suggested retail price | $24.00 | $34.00 | $53.00 | $140.00 |
The H250G and the I245G may be sold to NAR or Tripoli Level 1 certified purchasers in possession of an ATFE Low Explosive User Permit (LEUP). The J500G and the K270W require a Level 2 NAR or Tripoli certification.
All the new reloads have been or will soon be submitted for Tripoli testing, and certification is expected shortly. We anticipate deliveries to dealers to begin in late September to early October. Customers are encouraged to place their orders with dealers at their earliest opportunity to ensure timely delivery. Typical thrust curves of the new reloads may be downloaded in PDF format from the AeroTech website at http://www.aerotech-rocketry.com. Applicable certification documents, motor instructions and assembly drawings will be posted to the AeroTech Resource Library as soon as they become available.
