ImageWORLD WIDE WEB — As an added bonus to this year's Tripoli Rocketry Association annual experimental launch, held by the AHPRA at the Black Rock desert in Gerlach, Nevada, BALLS will feature a live webcast to anyone who wants to view the launch and events.

Mavericks founders, Tom Atchison, Dick Matthews and Tom Rouse have been working hard setting up the latest Tripoli Prefecture and getting the webcast ability operational, a functionality that is also part of the growing educational aspect of the Aero-Pacs ARLISS launch.

This is the final test of the system at a launch, prior to coming online for educational use. Most of the bugs have been worked out and the system should be fully operational to produce the images for a live webcast.

The webcast is proudly sponsored by the Silicon Valley venture capital firm of Draper/Fisher/Jurvetson (http://www.dfj.com/)

For webcast viewing, visit the Maverick's web site at http://www.rocketmavericks.com/.  Click on the Mavcam link.

There will also be a fully operational Internet connection at the BALLS site.  We'll see you on the playa this weekend.

Has anybody been able to get the MavCam to work? I continually get a Page Not Found error.

For those that do not have the AXIS Media Controller Motion JPEG plugin, you can use the attached installer. I tried watching it in MPEG4 and the speed and video artifacts were really poor. Understand this is being broadcast from one of the most remote areas in the US, so the Motion JPEG plugin in a lot better but not very fluid.

None Mavericks BALLS Webcast
I would appreciate the feedback on what everone experienced. We have a full DS3 out there, but I had the bandwidth dialed way down for testing. I also had limits on how long any one could connect, andlimited it to 20 users.

Our intention with this system is not to go into the broadcast business, but to use in a K-12 educational program we will be announcing and launching next year.

Mavericks will try again at the competition next weekend for those that would like to ttry again. You can help us, by sending constructive suggests to us at This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it

We are working on a partnership that will carry a higher quality link in a cached server configuation for nwext years operations.

I tried getting the webcast twice on the first day and when I got the error message each time I lost interest. It was actually a shame since it seemed like a pretty cool idea.

Better luck next time,

Andrew
