WORLD WIDE WEB — On Friday, October 5th, 2007 at 5:28PM EDT, Arianespace will launch an Ariane 5 rocket with the INTELSAT 11 & OPTUS D2 dual-satellite payload. Rocketry Planet has made arrangements to broadcast the launch live in one of our chat rooms. The webcast will begin at 5:13PM EDT, with a 45 minute launch window opening at 5:28PM EDT.
The Launch Readiness Review (RAL) took place in Kourou on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 and authorized count-down operations for the launch. For its fourth launch of the year Arianespace will boost two communications satellites into orbit: Intelsat 11 for the international operator Intelsat, and Optus D2 for the Australian operator Optus. Both satellites were built by Orbital Sciences Corporation. Through proven reliability and availability, Arianespace and Ariane continue to set the launch service standard for the world’s leading space communications operators. It will be launched from the Ariane launch complex N° 3 (ELA3), in Kourou, French Guiana. The webcast is only available to registered users, but registration is easy and free. You must be logged in prior to entering the webcast and you must enter the special Arianespace Live Webcast link to view the webcast.
