Giant Leap TAC-BAG

Giant Leap Rocketry has released the TAC-BAG, a deployment bag for the high-end TAC-series of parachutes.

The TAC-BAG is made of KEVLAR™, which has a higher heat rating than NOMEX™ and offers superior mechanical protection as well.

The TAC-BAG is shaped round, not square, so that they fit easily into your airframe.

It also has loops (or "keepers") that keep the shockcord neatly folded and stored in order to reduce the chances of tangling.

{The loops are elastic, not solid nylon, so that they release the shockcord easily.

The purpose the TAC-BAG, according to Ed at Giant Leap, "is to allow a controlled deployment.

It's the next step in recovery beyond the standard practice of ejecting a rolled up ball of nylon and shockcord."

The TAC-BAG also has a high strength tubular nylon shockcord running through it, and that cord takes the load of ejection, not the bag.

Also, the TAC-BAG can used used in multiple configurations, not just in "free-bag" style (see the Giant Leap website for details).

Ed says, "it's all about the better mousetrap; we studied the limitations of existing bags, listened to our customers, and result is the TAC-BAG."

There are four sizes of TAC-BAG; one for each of the three large TAC-9 chutes and one for the smaller TAC-1 series.
