WORLD WIDE WEB — The 2007 Essence's Model Rocketry Reviews Challenge has now gone ballistic as the deadline is fast approaching.  As a reminder, the deadline is December 15, 2007.  A zealous rocketeer could even start today and accomplish all 10 of the challenges.

The EMRR Challenge is making a strong effort to remind rocketeers of the variety of challenges model rocketry offers. The Challenge runs all year and is a great way to have fun and compete for great prizes.

1. The GOLD PRIZE is a $300 shopping spree at Countdown Hobbies. (See special note on webpage)
2. The SILVER PRIZE is a $150 shopping spree at Quest Aerospace.
3. The BRONZE PRIZE is a Giant Leap Talon 2 contributed by Tim Thomas.

There are also two BONUS events.  Event #8 is the Design this Spaceship contest with its own set of great prizes.  It is also a featured event counting for 8 points toward the total score. (Prizes from Cool Rockets, ARA Press, BRS Hobbies, Model Minutes, Pemberton Technologies, and SpaceCAD)

Event #5, also a bonus, has great prizes for the best "Uniquely Designed" Rocket Finish. (Prizes from Art Applewhite, Red River Rocketry, Mad Cow Rocketry, and SpaceCAD)

Other events include Reducing the EMRR Hit List by building, flying, and reviewing any rocket listed; Recycling an old rocket or household trash into a new rocket; and building a kit or designing a Reusable Glider Rocket.

Each event builds points toward Bronze, Silver or Gold Level.

Even those that participated in the 2005 and/or 2006 EMRR Challenge, but didn't finish, have an extra chance to recover their pride and gain points.

Juniors should not shy away because there is a bonus just for them.  Bring it on!
 
The challenge should not only help the participants to have fun in our hobby, but will also provide them with some learning experiences. Those experiences will be shared on the pages of EMRR, so that others will benefit as well.
