ImageSAN GERONIMO, California USA — A 16-acre grass fire broke out near Lagunitas School in San Geronimo Saturday afternoon.

The fire was reported at 3:52 p.m. at the rear of the school campus just off Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, county fire dispatcher Lauri Geissler said.

"It's confined to vegetation, just grass and brush," said Geissler, reporting no injuries. "There's no structures being threatened."

Crews from agencies including county fire, Novato, Ross Valley, Marin Municipal Water District and Skywalker Ranch had the fire fully contained by 5:45 p.m.

Fire officials said the fire was apparently caused by a model rocket fired behind the school.
