WORLD WIDE WEB — On Monday, November 12th, 2007, Arianespace will launch an Ariane 5 rocket with the Star One C1 and Skynet 5B dual-satellite payload. Rocketry Planet has made arrangements to broadcast the launch live in one of our chat rooms. The webcast will begin at 4:51PM EST, with a 54 minute launch window opening at 5:06PM EST.
For its fifth launch of the year, Arianespace will boost two communications satellites into orbit: Skynet 5B for the United Kingdom, and Star One C1 for Brazilian satellite operator Star One. Skynet 5B will handle secure communications services for the United Kingdom's armed forces, NATO and other countries, and Star One C1 will provide communications, multimedia and broadband Internet services. Through proven reliability and availability, Arianespace and Ariane continue to set the launch service standard for the world’s leading space communications operators. It will be launched from the Ariane launch complex N° 3 (ELA3), in Kourou, French Guiana. The webcast is only available to registered users, but registration is easy and free.
