MERRIMACK, New Hampshire USA — Jim Flis of FlisKits Incorporated is excited to announce three new kits in time for the 2007 holiday season.
First on the retail hook is the long anticipated Rose-A-Roc, 18mm competition helicopter duration model. Originated by Art Rose and reproduced in kit form with Art’s blessing, the Rose-A-Roc is an established leader in the world of competition but is more often than not passed over due to the level of complexity in the fabrication of parts as well as the assembly itself. Engineers at FlisKits have taken much of the “magic” and complexity out of this design by implementing custom laser cut parts to replace the complex rotor hub. Additionally, FlisKits has made changes that ease assembly and use while staying true to Art’s original design. Changes such as a custom drag-cheating nose cone, double walled ejection chamber, precision laser cut plywood centering rings for the Rotor Shaft and even a method of attaching a launch lug for those without access to launch towers and piston launchers. Upon seeing the kit documentation and details on these changes and upgrades, Art Rose’s response was “Grand job!” No more will you have to scratch your head fabricating complex precision parts, following obscure instructions or trying to locate exotic materials to build a world class helicopter duration model (not to mention one heck of a sport model too). FlisKits provides all of the parts you need, neatly packaged with a world-class set of instructions filled with detailed figures, hints and tips. The FlisKits Rose-A-Roc is expected to retail for $19.95 and will be available for purchase from their web site Friday, December 14th. Watch the web site as well as eBay for the auction of the first production unit signed by Jim Flis, VP Brian McCarthy and originator Art Rose. In addition to that exciting announcement, FlisKits is proud to announce two new additions to their growing “Micro to the MAXX™” line of micro kits. Introducing the Mudwasp and the Teeny Triskelion kits, FlisKits grows their fleet of micro kits to 14 and maintains the widest selection of micro parts and accessories in the industry. New Micro to MAXX™ Mudwasp and Teeny Triskelion. The Teeny Triskelion is a micro version of their popular beginner kit, the Triskelion. Based on the BT-3 body tube, the Teeny Triskelion only stands 4” tall and can scream nearly 100 feet into the air on the tiny Micromaxx motors from Quest Aerospace. Featuring laser cut fins and detailed instructions, the Teeny Triskelion makes for a fun yet challenging build with a bag full of very small parts. The Teeny Triskelion will retail for $6.95 and is expected to be available from the FlisKits web site on Friday, December 14th (click on PRODUCTS, then MICROMAXX then KITS). The Mudwasp is a fun 6 finned design based on the BT-3 tube and standing 7.9” tall, the Mudwasp is a heavier and higher drag micro model making it perfect for smaller fields. The Mudwasp also represents FlisKits second introduction of a Skill Level 1 (beginner) micro model in an effort to help introduce the world of micro rocketry to more and more rocketeers. Featuring laser cut fins, incredibly simple build and detailed instructions (including flight prep), the Mudwasp is a fantastic “first build” for any rocketeer and also a fine addition to any rocketry fleet. The Mudwasp will retail for $7.95 and is expected to be available from the FlisKits web site on Monday, December 17th (click on PRODUCTS, then MICROMAXX then KITS) Website: http://www.fliskits.com/

I'm getting the Rose-A-Roc; we have the 1/2A, A & B Helicopter Duration
events in NAR Sanctioned contests here in the Houston, TX area often. The
new FlisKits will certainly make it more competitive in these events!

Re: FlisKits announces three exciting new kits
It is my hope that this kit version of the Rose-A-Roc will entice more and more people to build this once very difficult design. While it is still very much a challenge, you don't have to go looking for exotic materials (everything is provided) and the most complex part of the assembly (the rotor hub) is essentially pre-made for you.
This will allow competitors to test their *building* and flying skills, while not relying so much on their *fabrication* skills, as in the past.

I love the Mudwasp too and am considering an upscale It seems that everytime I do a unique micro kit I get requests to upscale it and the same with a new standard kit with requests to micro-size it LOL
Also thought it would be cool to make sloped cuts in those tubes on the Mudwasp. Lots of ideas and possibilities there!

Re: FlisKits announces three exciting new kits
I've made a few pre-Fliskits "Rose-A-Roc's" over the years. Kitting it is a good idea and I suggest all rocketeers who have graduated to at least skill level 3 build one from Fliskits. Very fun flights.

Well all of those new kits are doing very well. The Rose-A-Roc flew and is still flying off the shelf, which is a good thing
We have yet 3 *more* products just announced. I will be posting them shortly, so stay tuned

Saw my first Rose-A-Roc flight Saturday. WOW. That bird hangs in the air. It was the Energizer Bunny of rockets. I was suitably impressed. BTW for those who are wondering the rocket was made by "lessgravity".
