HILLSBORO, Oregon USA — With three of nine Board of Trustee positions open for placement, National Association of Rockety Secretary George Rachor has officially called for the 2008 trustee nominations. NAR members will vote for the three seats, to be announcemed at NARAM-50 in July, 2008.
In accordance with the organization's by-laws, Secretary Rachor has opened the call for nominations for the three seats, which are filled by member elections conducted annually to fill the nine total board positions. The elections are closed each year at the National Association of Rocketry's Annual Meeting, this year's event celebrating the NAR's golden anniversary. NARAM-50 will be held July 26th through August 1st at The Plains, Virginia.
With the NAR officially accepting nominations, if you wish to run for the board, or if you know someone that you feel is qualified to run who will accept the nomination, now is the time to get the nomination on the ballot. If you nominate someone other than yourself, you should submit a letter from your nominee indicating their willingness to accept the nomination.
Nominees should provide a resume and statement no longer than 300 words, which will be published with the balloting material, and should include the nominee's name, address and NAR member number. All nomination letters, resumes and statements must be received by the NAR Secretary no later than Thursday, May 1st, 2008, and should be sent to:
George Rachor NAR Secretary 33380 NW Bagley Road Hillsboro, OR 97124
Nominations and resumes may be transmitted electronically via e-mail with "NAR Nominations" in the subject line to:

#1Re: NAR secretary opens call for 2008 board nominations
For those of you who care about the NAR and would like to see change in top level judgement, this is the only relatively fast path to it, assuming the BoT is not open to real input from a non-member committee.
So good luck finding "better" candidates than the three up for renewal. The announcement does not specify who those three names are however.

That information is easy enough to find though. The "About the NAR" left side menu selection has a choice named NAR Contacts Directory, which leads to the NAR web site administrative directory page, which lists the trustees and the year their term expires. I have listed them below in alphabetical order and grouped by the year their term expires.
Mark Bundick - 2008
Joyce Guzik - 2008
Stewart McNabb - 2008
Jennifer Ash-Poole - 2009
Trip Barber - 2009
John Lyngdal - 2009
Ted Cochran - 2010
Vince Huegele - 2010
George Rachor - 2010
